Health

Although we are in a much better health situation now in comparison to the past 2 years, COVID-19 is still among us and we are obliged as an organization to inform you of the policy regarding COVID-19. THIMUN follows all recommendations from the Dutch Authorities relating to COVID measures in and around the Conference, at the moment there are no restrictions in The Netherlands.

The website for the Dutch Authorities related to COVID-19 can be found in this link (English) https://www.government.nl/topics/coronavirus-covid-19

During the Conference we recommend that the standard hygiene precautions be taken such as clean hands either with a alcohol based hand rub (hand gel pumps are provided at certain points within the building) or washing your hands.  The use of masks is not compulsory but it might be the case that some may feel the need or wish to wear a face-mask.

If at any point a student or adult from your delegation does not feel well with a fever, it is advised to take a self-test, these tests can be bought at any drug-store/pharmacy, even some supermarkets. If they test positive please do not attend the conference.

Safety & Security

FIRST AID: At all times during the conference we have First Aid available located on the First Floor in front of the World Forum Theatre, near entrance door 6.

Voting Placards

A placard with the name of the delegation is provided on the basis of ONE per delegate. You need it for voting. Don’t forget to bring it with you to all sessions. Lost placards will not be replaced.

Rules of Conduct

It is assumed by virtue of the fact that participants are here for a serious programme that they are mature enough to respect others and to provide a framework within which all MUN participants can operate, with each action in good taste and appropriate to the primary purpose of their being here. Failure to follow these simple guidelines may result in participants being sent home at their own expense and schools not being invited to future sessions.

Alcoholic Beverages and Narcotic Drugs
Alcoholic Beverages may not be consumed at any time during the conference. The legal age for alcohol consumption in The Netherlands has been set at 18. The use of any form of narcotic drug is expressly prohibited.

Students Staying in Hotels and Hostels
Students staying in Hotels and Hostels are reminded that they have a great deal of responsibility towards their hosts as well as towards their fellow residents. Special financial arrangements have been made for your benefit. Your cooperation is needed to ensure the on-going success of this programme.

Curfew
Since MUN sessions are very long and tiring and also out of consideration for housing families and fellow hotel guests, a curfew of 23:00 is recommended from Sunday to Thursday.

Smoking Areas

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the World Forum. The designated smoking area is outside, in front of the Convention Centre.
